Makivik Corporation

Makivik is the development corporation mandated to manage the heritage funds of the Inuit of Nunavik provided for in the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA). Makivik’s role includes the administering and investment of these funds, and promoting economic growth through the assistance of the creation of businesses run by Inuit in Nunavik. Makivik promotes the preservation of Inuit culture and language as well as the health, welfare, relief of poverty, and education of Inuit in the communities.

Sakku Investments

Sakku Investments Corporation is the investment arm of the Kivalliq Inuit Association (KivIA). Sakku has been acting as a development corporation since 1989. The vision of Sakku is to build a healthy economy for the Inuit of the Kivalliq region. Its mission is to invest in viable business enterprises to the betterment of Kivallimmiut and the territory of Nunavut.

Transport Nanuk Inc.

Transport Nanuk Inc. (TNI) is a joint venture between Logistec Corporation and The North West Company. TNI has extensive expertise in marine transportation, handling all kinds of construction and mining materials and equipment, including dangerous and hazardous cargoes. Delivering dry cargoes to Northern communities is our business. We are pioneers in the Arctic trade and we are fully aware of the hazardous weather and ice conditions, which play a significant role in the delivery of cargoes.
