READY FOR YOUR 2021 SUMMER SEALIFT SEASON, THE NEAS GROUP OPENS NEW NEAS CARGO SERVICE CENTER AND NEAS MARINE TERMINAL AT THE PORT OF BÉCANCOUR IN SOUTHERN QUEBEC

MONTREAL, QC, Jan. 18, 2021 /NEAS/—Great news for NEAS customers across Canada’s Eastern and Western Arctic beginning this 2021 summer sealift season.

“The NEAS Group is proud to announce our new expanded NEAS Cargo Service Center and our bigger NEAS Marine Terminal, at the Port of Bécancour,” said Suzanne Paquin, President and CEO, The NEAS Group Inc. “NEAS customers will immediately benefit from efficiencies, improved cargo drop-off, enhanced packaging and innovative container services, expanded warehousing options, faster loading and mid-season ship turnarounds.”

Strategically located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, with advantageous intermodal transportation connections, the new NEAS Cargo Service Center and the NEAS Marine Terminal at the Port of Bécancour enhance NEAS as Canada’s leading arctic gateway.

“NEAS customers are growing, and we want to deliver our customers the state-of-the-art facilities they need to support economic prosperity and supply chain development,” said Noah Tayara, Chairman of the Board, The NEAS Group. “Our customers’ escalating demands and increasing volumes require setting the now necessary footprint for larger and more specialized cargoes, including for mining, housing construction and food security.”

The new NEAS Cargo Service Center includes 113,000 square feet of secure warehousing, with 10% heated, and over 1.5 million square feet of secure yard and lay down areas. The new NEAS Marine Terminal at the Port of Bécancour boasts gated access to 5 berths, with drafts necessary for the current and future NEAS fleet, and lands necessary for handling and storage.
